Women's Lacrosse: Norwich 13 Thomas 2
Waterville, ME - The Cadets built an 8-0 halftime lead and went on to win their first varsity game in program history with a 13-2 final over the Terriers. Norwich goes to 1-1 on the season and 1-0 in the NEWLA, while Thomas is 0-1 overall and in league play.
Four Norwich players scored two goals apiece, Kathleen Hennessy, Kristen Lewis, Ally Daniels, and Alyssa Nicoloro. Karen Demers scored both Thomas goals.
The Cadets outshot the Terriers, 26-7. NU netminder Katie Fraser tallied three saves, while Thomas goaltender CJ Haines finished with 13 saves. The Cadets totaled 11 groundballs, while the Terriers collected five.
Norwich will return to action on Thursday with a conference game at Worcester State at 6:00 p.m. Thomas will be back on the field on Wednesday with a 3:30 p.m. road game at Lasell.
