Women's Lacrosse: Two Cadets Honored

Northfield, VT - Norwich Women's Lacrosse midfield Allison Daniels (Concord, NH) has been named as the New England Women's Lacrosse Alliance (NEWLA) Player of the Week, while goaltender Katie Fraser (Coventry, RI) has been named to the weekly Honor Roll.

Daniels scored 14 goals and recorded six assists as the Cadets went 3-0 for the week. In Norwich's 17-10 win at Lasell, Daniels scored a game-high seven goals.

"Allyson had a great week for our young and upcoming program," said NU Head Coach Tyler Renaud. "Her aggressive play in the Lasell and Emerson game helped in allowing us to maintain the lead throughout both games, even when both became close in the early stages of the second half."

Fraser made 34 saves in the three victories. In Norwich's 13-9 win over Emerson College, Fraser was credited with one assist.

"Katie Fraser may have been the biggest difference in our game against Emerson," said Renaud. "Emerson came out strong on the first two draws of the game and had one-on-one breakaways against her. She stuffed both of them out, allowing us to transition the saves down the field and scoring on each counter."

The Cadets are 4-2 overall and 3-1 in NEWLA competition.
