Softball: Norwich Drops Two at St. Joseph-CT


West Hartford, CT - The Cadets' hitting woes continued as the Blue Jays won both games of a GNAC doubleheader. Norwich managed only five hits in a 2-1 loss in the opener, and four hits in a 5-3 setback in game two.

In the opener, NU's Justine Caron scored the lone run on a bases-loaded walk. Caron finished 1-for-3 at the plate and Katelyn Menard took the loss, striking out six batters and giving up seven hits.

Game two went to eight innings when Norwich tied the game after being down 2-0 in the bottom of the sixth inning. Jazmin Stevens scored two runs and finished 1-for-4 at the plate, while Whitney Grennon went 1-for-2.

The losses give Norwich an overall record of 14-10 and 9-7 in GNAC play. The Cadets will take on Emerson College in a GNAC doubleheader at 1:00 pm on Sunday. The games will be played at St. Michael's College in Colchester, VT.
