Baseball: WNEC Runs All Over Norwich
Springfield, MA - The Golden Bears totaled 28 runs and held the Cadets to two runs in a GNAC doubleheader victory. WNEC took game one, 11-1, and claimed game two, 17-1.
In the opener, the Golden Bears put the game away with five runs in the fourth inning. The Cadets scored their lone run in the fifth inning. Jason Pizzoferrato was the winning WNEC pitcher, while Chris Pybus took the loss for Norwich.
Game two resembled game one as the Golden Bears scored five runs in the fourth inning. WNEC then added seven runs in the fifth inning en route to the win. Mike Richardson picked up the win, while John Driscoll was the losing pitcher. Despite the loss, there was one highlight for the Cadets as Aaron Ward finished with three hits, giving him 100 for his Norwich career.
Norwich wraps up the regular season with a 5-19 overall mark and 4-10 in the GNAC.
