Class of ’57 member leading the parade. Homecoming 2007
The sun shone on Norwich throughout a glorious – if sweltering – Homecoming Weekend. The three-day celebration featured the dedication of the new Wise Campus Center, the opening of the Mountain Cold Weather exhibit at the Sullivan Museum, a parade honoring the Class of 1957, and much more.[more].

Reunion gifts top $8 million!
Led by the Class of 1957 with a gift of $3 million, this year's Reunion Classes presented checks to NU President Schneider totaling $8.2 million. The presentation took place during the Alumni Parade on Sabine Field at Homecoming! [more]

The Sullivan Museum and History Center opened a new exhibit Homecoming Weekend recognizing 60 Years of Mountain Cold Weather 1947-2007. Learn about the 10th Mountain Division roots of this unique ROTC program; try your hand at knot-tying; watch video highlights from recent MCW years; and jot down your own MCW experiences on the interactive bulletin board. Norwich University Professor Gary Parker can now add one more accolade to his title. Just announced as a Charles A. Dana Professor of Physics, Parker can now count himself as one of five distinguished individuals teaching on the Northfield, Vt. campus. [more]

Working with NASA is not something many college students envision, even after they graduate. Fortunately for a few lucky Norwich engineering students, they’ll get a taste before graduation day arrives through their involvement in two NASA–related projects. [more]

NU participants in the Italian Campaign or Korean War: Information requested
Tyler Claus and Ross Bailey, students in Professor Gary Lord’s Norwich University history seminar, are compiling information about Norwich alumni who served in the Italian Campaign during World War II and/or in the Korean War. Norwich University and the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) have reached an agreement that will see the Cadets football program join the league as an associate member beginning in 2009. [more]

New IRA legislation increases charitable giving options!
Until year-end 2007, individuals will be allowed to give their Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs) directly to non-profit organizations, such as Norwich, with no tax consequences. [more]

Fourth Annual Liberty Gala at the PML
The Pritzker Military Library in Chicago will honor 40 men and women of the armed forces and their guests at its 4th Annual Liberty Gala. Also at the Gala, the First Annual Pritzker Military Library Literature Award will be presented for lifetime achievement in military writing, and a special presentation of the Library's Founders Award will be made to John Callaway recognizing his 50 years in broadcast journalism.
