Why Our Students Chose Norwich
"I chose Norwich because they gave me hope when I was out of it. Norwich was my island of security in a raging tempest of uncertainty and foreboding. Norwich did not look at me as some application but rather as a living, breathing human being who may not have the best grades in the academic world but whose qualities made him human instead of a manila folder. Norwich showed me an alternative not taken by many my age. I wanted an experience of discipline, honor and courtesy. I like to think that Norwich isn't the beginning of the military for me but rather the beginning of my true life. I will serve with other like-minded individuals and I will try in accordance with Norwich's expectations."

"I applied to Norwich as my number one school because I knew they wouldn't let me fail. They are great supporters of their students."

"When I decided to attend Norwich, it was almost purely a gut feeling. I ended up ruling out all other colleges after my last minute visit to campus for the NU101 Open House. When all the prospective students were waiting for the days events in Plumley Armory, I visited the Air Force station and appreciated the help I overwhelmingly received from the student there. One aspect that really stood out was the hard work, dedication and unity I found at Norwich that was hard to find at any other college I visited. Most of all, I wanted a college that would force me to be my best at all times and in every aspect of my character so that I could reach my future goals. I just knew from all the colleges on my list, none could do this better than Norwich. Finally, I wanted to be one of the few people who chose this way of college life with pride, distinction and being able to serve my country."

"I chose Norwich because it reminded me of a quaint New England town. It has a lot of history but has modern touches and renovations. Everyone was anxious to show me how wonderful Norwich was that I just couldn't help but feel it too! Norwich's structured environment set it apart. The unique blend of military and civilian life benefits both sides and provides a unique experience."

"Norwich University stood high above other colleges that I researched because it offers the best combination of academics, sports and other extracurricular activities as well as The Corps of Cadets. After I visited the University, I decided to choose Norwich for many different reasons. The staff was very helpful in all aspects. The students were also very welcoming. The campus itself is very historic and quite beautiful. The all-around atmosphere made me feel very comfortable. I was very impressed with the structure of The Corps and am certain that I am on the right track with Norwich as far as obtaining my career goals. Choosing Norwich is the right decision...all the way around!"

"My sister attended Norwich for her first year of school and when my mother and I went up to visit her, everyone was so nice to me and the campus was so beautiful. When I went looking at other colleges, none of them seemed right but when I went to look at Norwich, it felt like home. Everything was calm and peaceful and I just knew that this was where I wanted to go to school."

"I chose Norwich for several reasons:
- I was looking for a ROTC program that was above the average school. Norwich provides that and offers many other challenging opportunities for growth and learning.
- Nature is something I love to be surrounded by and the campus setting is perfect for me in that regard.
- I enjoyed talking to people both times I went up to visit. They were very helpful, answering questions to their best ability and describing campus and ROTC lifestyles.
- The college allows a person to grow and make decisions on their own while also pushing him or her towards becoming something better. As much as the school encourages excellence, it also affords the ability of making mistakes. It is the lessons and growth that comes of those mistakes which is focused on, instead of humiliation and regret. One must pick themself up and move on. This is the sense I got from talking to people and visiting the college and I loved it."
