Tuition Payment

Dear Student, Parent or Guardian:
We look forward to working with you in the coming years and are dedicated to doing all we can to make your education dreams become an affordable reality. The following will assist you with a better understanding of thee Office of the Bursar:

The Student is the recipient of the educational services povided by Norwich University and for this reason, the student is obligated to see that all fees are paid when due. Federal law (specifically, the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act) and our Policies affect the information that we can provide and the rection we can take from parents. We want to cooperate with students and parents to the fullest extent and we hope that students will discuss their financial matters with their parents as needed.

Our Fees and Financial Policy booklet will be mailed with the student billing. We urge you to read this entire document very carefully. It is important that you have a clear understanding of this information. The booklet lists fees, payment options, refund schedules, refund polices and other important student account information.

The Semester Bill is generated and mailed to you by the Office the Bursar twice each year. The fall bill is mailed by July 1 with the due date of August 1, 2008, and the spring bill is mailed mid-November with a due date of December 5, 2008. Everyone must respond to the billings by completing the Remittance form. Instructions are found on the back of the student bill.

The Monthly Statement goes directly to the student on campus. The student should monitor the activity on this stateent to confirm credits and any new charges that may have curred. Additional charges should be paid at this time. The student should share this information with parents or guardians as appropriate.

Personal checks up to $150.00 can be cashed in the Office of the Bursar and up to $100.00 at the Bookstore with proper ID. Students who are eligible for student work-study are encouraged to direct deposit their payroll check into their checking or savings accounts. Forms for direct deposit can be found at the payroll office or the Office of the Bursar.

Medical Insurance

Medical Insurance is required for all full time students, through either a personal policy or the one offered by Norwich University. This policy is charged to all the full time students in the fall semester tuition bill. The insurance booklet is enclosed with the fall semester bill and explains the coverage and policies. To waive the Norwich University medical insurance, complete the waiver card that is enclosed in the fall bill and return to the Office of the Bursar by enrollment day. If the waiver card is not returned, the student will autoatically be enrolled in the plan and responsible for the cost.

Insurance for Athletes

In order to participate in intercollegiate athletics at Norwich, all students must show proof of medical/health insurance coverage. Most students are covered under their parent's insurance plan. This is your primary insurance. Student-athletes who are not covered under their parent's plan or their own insurance must purchase the insurance coverage that is made available through the Bursar's Office ("School Plan"). This plan, currently administered by Bollinger, Inc., then becomes your primary insurance.

In addition, Athletic accident insurance ("Athletic Plan") is provided by Norwich for our intercollegiate student-athletes. This plan is currently administered by NACDA Insurance and is offered on a secondary or excess basis. This means that all claims must initially be sent through your primary insurance. This policy has a $1500.00 deductible and covers all athletic related injuries incurred at University sponsored practices and games, as well as injuries occurring during travel to and from games. This policy does not cover non-athletic related injuries or illnesses. In addition, this policy does not cover injuries occurring during participation in club or intramural sports. Club sports are covered under a separate plan.

The "School Plan" that was mentioned earlier is made available each year to all Norwich students, even if they have other insurance coverage. We strongly encourage you to purchase this policy, since it will cover non-athletic related injuries and illnesses, as well as the deductible on the ÒAthletic PlanÓ. The ÒSchool PlanÓ does not have a deductible. If you decide not to purchase this plan you must sign a waiver and return it, along with proof of other insurance coverage, to the Bursar's Office.

Lastly, if you have any questions or concerns or if you do suffer an athletic related injury, it is very important that you coordinate with the contact person for the Athletic Department:
