Cadets will be issued the following items upon completion of Rook Basic Skills Training

Note
All Rook issue items may not be available for immediate distribution.
Rooks serving in the National Guard or reserve may bring equipment and uniforms required for weekend drills.
Student athletes are required to wear a sports coat, dress shirt, tie, dress pants and shoes when traveling to an away game. Rooks who will be a member of a varsity team are permitted to bring the appropriate clothing.
Cadet Shoes
(The style shoes you will be required to have are the ones described below.)
Shoes, male The shoes will be plain black leather or patent leather military style. The shoes will have a non-contrasting sole and normal standard heel. Rubber soles are recommended due to the climate in Vermont.
Shoes, female The shoes will be plain black leather or patent leather military style. The heel and sole will be of non-contrasting color. Rubber soles are recommended due to the climate in Vermont.
Recruits may purchase military shoes at any military installation, from military, police, or uniform stores or catalogs. Local shoe stores may be able to assist in finding a source that carries military shoes. Rooks are highly encouraged to wear and break in the shoes prior to arrival.
The Cadet Uniform Store carries both styles of military shoes in stock. If your size is not available, it will be ordered and available within one to two weeks.

Note
Rooks with prior military experience may bring military-issue shoes.
