Requirements for History Major
History majors must complete at least 36 degree credits in History (HI) and PO202 and PO105 with a grade of “C,” or better. All history majors are required to complete twelve history courses including the distribution requirements and HI109, HI221, HI222, and a senior seminar capstone course with a grade of “C” or better (the seminar may count in the distribution requirements).. Additionally, majors are required to pass EC201 or EC202.
Distribution Area Requirements
Courses taken to meet the distribution area requirements must be numbered 300 or higher.
- United States – one course
- Modern European – one courses
- Pre-Modern (prior to 1648) – one course
- Non-Western – one course
