One of the most popular new degree programs in the country: The Bachelor of Science in Sports Medicine is a strong, science-based program designed to provide graduates with a thorough knowledge of the care and prevention of athletic injuries.

Norwich had a fine sports medicine program that interested me and once I visited campus I knew that Norwich was a perfect fit.

~ Paul Meier, ’01

Molding the degree to your personal interests: A core curriculum through the freshman and sophomore years provides background knowledge in biology, assessment, care and prevention of athletic injuries, physics, and English. At this point students may elect either the Health Science Concentration, which requires additional biology and chemistry courses (preparing students for graduate work in physical therapy, chiropractic medicine, exercise physiology and physician assistant programs) or the Athletic Training Concentration, which requires additional athletic training and clinical education coursework. Both concentrations incorporate hands-on experience in various professional settings. An optional summer internship provides the opportunity for exciting field placements, including the Olympic training center, professional sports training camps, sports medicine clinics, or campus-based sports camps.
