The Norwich University physical education program has produced some of Vermont’s and New England’s finest physical educators and coaches — Don Brown ’77 (head football coach, Univeristy of Massachusetts), Mike Norman ’86 (athletic director/head football coach, Rutland Supervisory Union), Jim Segar ’76, (physical educator, head boys hockey coach and head girls lacrosse coach, U-32), Mike Gonneville ’77 (physical educator, former head girls soccer coach, Northfield Elementary School), Mike Stone ’81 (physical educator, head football coach, Hartford HS), and Mike Yesalonia ’82(administrator, former head football coach, Norwich University), to name just a few. Distinguished Norwich University physical education alumni also have successful careers in the military, professional sports, pharmaceutical sales, administration and management, commercial airlines, exercise science, fitness, and recreation.
