Holdings
Holdings and locations of periodical titles appear in WorldCat Local, the online catalog. Printed lists located on the first three floors of the Kreitzberg Library, contain more complete information on older volumes.
The Norwich University Library subscribes to over 800 print and microform periodical titles.
Locations
At Kreitzberg Library, periodicals are assigned the call number 050 plus a number which usually, but not always, corresponds to the title of the periodical (e.g. Civil War History- 050 C584). Bound volumes are located on the second floor and microforms on the mezzanine. Current issues are located in the current reading area and Crowley Reading Room on the second floor. Current issues of popular titles are located behind the Circulation Desk. Titles in specialized areas are shelved separately in such areas as Nursing Current Periodicals, Special Collections, and Reference Room. Bound and current architecture periodicals are located on the third floor. Volumes dated before 1920 and a number of other closed titles are stored in the basement.
Newspapers
The Kreitzberg Library subscribes to several newspapers. Current issues are located at the Circulation Desk. Older issues are on microform.
Photocopiers and Printers
Periodicals do not circulate. Printed articles may be photocopied. Photocopiers are available for use on the Reference, second and third floor levels in the library. Articles on microform may be printed out on the microfilm and microfiche reader/printers on the Mezzanine level of the library or emailed to your mailbox.
Electronic Journals
The library has access to many journals in electronic form, including Federal Government Journals. To find out if a journal or an article is available in full text on the Web, go you can use Periodicals A to Z. Not all databases have full text. Periodicals A to Z will provide information on journal availability in print or electronic form.
Missing Issues
If a periodical volume or issue cannot be located, please ask for assistance in the Periodical Department or at the Reference or Circulation desk.
Interlibrary Loan
If a periodical article is not available in the library, it may be ordered through the Interlibrary Loan Department.
