Agenda

Campus tours

The guided campus tour is for the parents, siblings and participants of the engineering showcase.

Representatives from our student ambassador club, Maroon and Gold Key, will take you on a guided tour of the Norwich campus. You will see the new Wise Campus Center, our athletic facilities, dormitories (including a typical room), our library, and other campus highlights as time permits.

Our Maroon and Gold Key guides are here to answer your questions about student life, current events on campus and their experiences here at Norwich. These guides are the students who would host your son or daughter if they chose to schedule an overnight visit.

Registration

When you arrive at Norwich University’s Engineering Showcase, the first thing you will do is register with our staff. At that time, you will receive your welcome packet, which will include information specific to the day. A letter welcoming you to the Engineering Showcase, a schedule, a campus map, information on our athletic teams and our student activities, an application for admission, and information on student financial planning will be included in the packet.

Mini NU on Display

After registration, there will be time for you and your family to walk around and meet with students and members of the faculty. Various departments (listed below) will also have displays and information available at this time. Mini NU on Display to include:

  • Army ROTC

Luncheon

This will be an opportunity for you to relax and visit with our faculty, staff and students prior to engaging in the engineering component of the Showcase.

Hands–on activities (for students)

The Engineering Division has a new and exciting way of getting you to learn about the campus and use a little brainpower in the meantime. This is not your typical open house; there will be several hands-on activities for you. Yes, this is a competition! The one with the highest score wins a $5000 NU Engineering Showcase Scholarship. We can’t say too much; we don’t want to give any hints.

Engineering student panel (for parents)

The parents will meet with a student panel consisting of current Norwich students, each of whom will bring their very diverse backgrounds to the table to answer questions that parents may have. The panel of students will include engineering students that are members in the Corps of Cadets, varsity Athletes, and female-civilian students to name a few.

Tour of engineering facility

The parents and students will meet back up to start the tour of the Engineering Facilities. Professors and students will be available during this time for questions.

$5000 NU Engineering Showcase Scholarship

A $5000 scholarship will be awarded to the person(s) with the highest overall score during the day of competitions. This scholarship will be applied to your account upon arrival at Norwich University. In order to be eligible for this scholarship, you must be accepted to, and enroll in, one of Norwich University’s Engineering programs.
