Issue & Purchase: The Uniform Store is the only authorized source for the purchase of uniforms and accessories by members of the Vermont State Militia (faculty and staff). Exceptions to this policy must be submitted in writing to the Deputy Commandant.
Allowances: At the beginning of the third year of service and for each year thereafter, members of the VSM are authorized a credit of $120.00 at the Uniform Store toward the purchase of any authorized item or the replacement of any issue item.
Options in Using Uniform Allowances: An annual uniform maintenance allowance is authorized at the start of the third year of service. It may be expended over a 24-month period and combined with the succeeding year's allowance to provide $240.00 for the purchase of uniform items whose cost exceeds the annual allowance. At the end of each two-year period, any balance from the first year's uniform maintenance allowance is forfeited.
