Insignia of Rank

How Worn

  1. On the black windbreaker, the black all-weather coat (raincoat) and the black field jacket, metal insignia of rank are worn centered on the shoulder loops, 5/8" from the outside shoulder seams (Fig 2.1, 2.5).

  2. On the green uniform coat, metal insignia of rank are worn centered on the shoulder loops, 5/8" from the outside shoulder seam. The Norwich regimental crest is also worn centered on the loop, midway between the insignia of rank and the inside end of the loop (Fig 1.1, 1.3).

  3. On the Garrison Cap, insigne of rank is worn centered on the left curtain, 1 inch from the front (Fig 1.1-4, 1.3-4).

  4. On the green class B shirt (Fig 1.2, 1.4) and black pullover sweater (Fig 2.3), the black cloth shoulder marks designating rank are attached to the shoulder loops, with the gold stripe nearest the shoulder seam.

Nametags

How Worn

  1. Male personnel. The nameplate will be worn on the flap of the right breast pocket centered between the top of the button and the top of the pocket on the Army green shirts, service green coat and dress blue coat. The nameplate will be worn centered on the black patch of the pullover sweater ½ inch above the bottom of the patch with the Regimental Crest and VT insigne centered left to right, top to bottom above the nameplate (Figures 1.1, 1.2, 1.5, & 2.3).

  2. Female personnel. On the service green coat, the nameplate will be worn 1-2 inches above the top button, centered horizontally on the right side. The nameplate will be worn centered horizontally on the wearer's right side and slightly above the top edge of the top button on the dress blue coat. On the Army green shirt, the nameplate is worn in a comparable position. The nameplate will be worn centered on the black patch of the pullover sweater ½ inch above the bottom of the patch with the Regimental Crest and VT insigne centered left to right, top to bottom above the nameplate (Figures 1.3, 1.4, 1.6, & 2.3).

  3. The black plastic nameplate is not worn on the black windbreaker or the black all-weather coat (Fig 2.1, 2.5).

VT Insignia

  1. Description. Will be block letters "VT." of gold color metal, 7/16 inches in height and followed by a period.

  2. How worn

    1. On the long and short sleeve green shirts, male officers wear the VT. Insigne centered on the flap of the left pocket (Fig 1.2).

      Female officers wear an insigne in the same approximate position, even with the bottom edge of the nametag (Fig 1.4).

    2. On the black pullover sweater, the VT. is worn to the right (outside) of the center line next to the Regimental Crest ¼" above the nameplate (Fig 2.3).

    3. On the Service Green Class A and Dress Blue Coat the VT insignia are worn on both upper lapels of the company and field grade, male (Fig 1.1) and female (Fig 1.3) officer Service Green (Class A) coats and on both upper the lapels of the male (Fig 1.5) and on the upper right lapel of female (Fig 1.6) company and field grade Dress Blue coats 5/8" above the notch on both lapels with the center line of the insignia bisecting the notch and parallel to the inside edge of the collar (Fig 1.5 & 1.6).

The State Seals

The state seal disks are worn on both lower lapels of the company and field grade, male (Fig 1.1) and female (Fig 1.3) officer Service Green (Class A) coats; and worn on both lower the lapels of the male company and field grade Dress Blue coats (Fig 1.5), 1" below the notch and with the centerline of the disc parallel to the inside of the collar; and on the upper left lapel of the Female Dress Blue coat (Fig 1.6), 5/8" above the notch with the center line of the insignia bisecting the notch and parallel to the inside edge of the collar.
