This video focuses on Victoria Ragan, a Norwich University engineering student, cadet and AmeriCorps volunteer. Ragan chose to focus her AmeriCorps service on hunger and poverty issues.

Ragan and other students volunteer at the weekly community dinner at Hedding United Methodist Church in Barre, Vermont—not far from the Northfield campus of Norwich, the country’s oldest private military college.

This video was made by Communications student Suzanne Whitaker for Norwich’s Center for Civic Engagement, which partners with AmeriCorps and other organizations to develop volunteer opportunities for students. Among other tasks, the Center for Civic Engagement organizes overseas service-learning trips, local volunteer rescue services, fundraisers and a host of community efforts.
