Trustee Emeritus Robert Mack to receive Honorary Degree

Trustee Emeritus Robert B. Mack will receive an honorary Doctor of Business Administration degree at Norwich University's May 14 Commencement ceremony.

Mr. Mack, a native of Larchmont, New York, graduated from Norwich University in 1964 with a Bachelor of Arts in English. Following service in the U.S. Army, in which he attained the rank of captain, Mr. Mack worked for several years as a planning engineer before entering the field of health maintenance. In this area, he was the founding CEO of Inland Health Plan, senior vice president of what is now Aetna Health Plans, and regional director of FHP International. He has authored and presented papers on various operational aspects and regulatory issues of HMOs. He is currently vice chairman and co- founder of D.B. Davis & Company of Guam and Saipan.

Mr. Mack has received a Master of Business Administration and a Graduate Certificate of Health Care management from California State University, Long Beach.

Mr. Mack has an extensive record of support and service to Norwich University. He has been active in recruiting students to Norwich and, in 1993, established the Mack Scholarship, awarded to a member of the Corps of Cadets majoring in English or Business. He is past president of the Friends of Norwich University Library and a strong supporter of the Kreitzberg Library's Archives and Special Collections. He is a Diamond member of the Partridge Society and served as a Norwich University Trustee from 1995 to 2005. As Trustee Emeritus, he continues to contribute time, energy, advice and resources to his alma mater.
