New Norwich University Director of Residence Life
Iphy Tanguay has been named the new Director of Residence Life at Norwich University. Tanguay will be responsible for overseeing a staff of civilian students, who work to provide a safe and peaceful environment in the halls and to organize various activities on campus.
The Residence Life staff participates in a wide variety of community service and University activities, and the group actively recruits others to join. The programs organized by Residence Life range from ice cream socials, pizza parties, and dances to helping out with the Haunted Hay Ride. These initiatives are designed to get the residents active in school events.
Tanguay started working at Norwich in 2000 as the Residence Director for Patterson Hall as well as the New Student Orientation Coordinator. In 2002 she was promoted to Assistant Director of Residence Life/New Student Orientation Coordinator. Former Director of Residence Life Ara Banks retired from the University in May.
"I am thrilled that Iphy's performance and potential have been recognized by the University," said Michael Kelley, Vice President for Student Affairs and Commandant at Norwich. "She will continue to make significant contributions to Norwich and take Residence Life forward in her new position."
"I am honored to have been selected as the next Director of Residence Life," Tanguay said. "I am looking forward to continuing to support and promote the vision, mission, and goals of Residence Life at Norwich University."
