Official Launch of the 2005 “War Whoop”
Now Taking Orders for the Norwich Yearbook
Immediately following the 187th Norwich University Convocation in Shapiro Field House, students remained for the unveiling of the new 2005 yearbook, the War Whoop.
Building on the belief that pride is contagious, Commandant and Vice President of Student Affairs Mike Kelley urged students to order their yearbook -- a memorable collection of photographs highlighting last year's sports teams, Corps companies and the many different faces of student life.
"This yearbook is a symbol of our collective pride in our university; it is a book that contains a year's worth of memories, and it showcases our immense capacity for camaraderie," Gen. Kelley said.
The Norwich Cheerleading Squad and the Norwich Regimental Band kicked off the event followed by a few words from Master of Ceremony Professor Dennis Tyner of the Engineering Department. A large screen video came to life with images from the yearbook, accompanied by popular music.
Door prizes were awarded to students whose names were randomly drawn from a hat. The winners walked away with such items as Norwich memorabilia, an MP3 player, free yearbooks, $100 gift certificate to the bookstore and even a digital camera. Refreshments were served by Sodexho.
A total of 13 students worked on the 2005 yearbook:
