Van Arnam ’84 Named Assistant VP for Advancement

Norwich University announces the hiring of Rick Van Arnam '84 as the new Assistant Vice President for Institutional Advancement. Van Arnam's duties will include overseeing the next capital campaign and managing the University's Major Gift Officers and Reunion Class Officer.

Van Arnam received his B.A. in government from Norwich in 1984 and his M.B.A. in general management, with a special concentration in corporate strategy and marketing, from the University of Michigan in 1993.

After graduating from Norwich, Van Arnam was commissioned a second lieutenant and spent six years on active duty, serving in such capacities as a commander in South Korea and commander of the 7th Special Forces Group's All Source Intelligence Section in Panama during Operation Just Cause. In 2003, Van Arnam was deployed to Afghanistan with the Vermont National Guard in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, where he had responsibilities training the Afghan National Army and earned a Bronze Star Medal for meritorious service. He is currently a Major serving in the Vermont National Guard. Van Arnam has also served as president of the Northfield Business and Professional Association and the Northfield Amateur Hockey Association.
