Make your reunion gift decision
Norwich not only needs your financial support, we depend on it! The success of the class in this regard is measured in part by the number of class members who join in on the Reunion Gift Program with a personal pledge or contribution by check or credit card.
Each reunion gift chair mailed letters to their classmates asking for support of the reunion class gift. This support is vital to help Norwich realize NU2019 – the strategic plan in preparation of our 200th Anniversary! The Gift Committees want their classmates to get involved in preserving and enhancing what is best about Norwich.
The Norwich Forever! Campaign, which will be announced at the Partridge Society Luncheon on Saturday, will be the first step in achieving the goals of NU2019 Strategic Plan, including a new Campus Center, the new Sullivan Museum and History Center, Phase II of the Athletic Complex, Student Scholarships, Academic Program Enhancement, 1819 Circle deferred gifts, our National Branding effort, and, of course, unrestricted operating support.
Gifts made in honor of your reunion will help us to reach each of these goals. Your generosity will be recognized and appreciated on Sabine Field Saturday, September 24th, as each reunion class presents their reunion gift checks to President Schneider. Making a renewable gift decision is easy, and shows the class bond that you developed as students and have continued in the years since graduation (many, many years for some of you!).
Each reunion gift committee worked diligently to encourage 100% participation at a significant level. This helps Norwich University meet its highest priorities. We hope, with your help, to present a combined check of over $2 Million to President Schneider and Trustee Chairman General Gordon Sullivan at the Alumni Parade on Saturday. Your reunion gift pledge or contribution is needed right now, to make this goal a reality.
How to Make a Reunion Gift
There are a number of ways to make your gift. You can return the pledge form that came in your recent class letter, or you can have your reunion gift credited online, by going to the Support Norwich web page. For those who are not able to attend the Reunion weekend for 1955-2000 class years, this is a wonderful way to show your loyalty to your class and to Norwich.
Gift appeals were mailed with a return gift acknowledgement form and envelope. Use this “pledge form” to have a reminder mailed each year at the dollar amount you prefer, and the full amount up to five years will be credited to the class reunion in full. Any gift received before September 23rd will be counted in the class reunion total, but aim to get your gift in by August 31st to ensure that your class gets full credit for your gift! Pledges made up to five years will be counted in full, as well as your one-time reunion gift contribution by check or credit card.
If you are a member of the Class of 1955 or before, and you have included Norwich in your will, those gifts will count in full towards your class, as well! If you have questions about how to make your gift now, please visit the Class Reunion Gifts page.
For those who would like to make a gift personally, you may call Giff Slater '79 at 802.485.2306 or email him with your reunion gift pledge amount at gslater@norwich.edu.
For a complete Homecoming 2005 Weekend schedule, activities, area lodging sites and other reunion related information you may contact the Alumni Office at 802.485.2100. Remember to make those lodging reservations right now, before the "leaf peeper" tourists get all the rooms!
We look forward to seeing all of you who are planning to return to “the Hill” on September 23-25. Have a Great Norwich Day!
Norwich Forever!
