Albury
hired as Assistant Director of Public Affairs
Mark Albury, a freelance writer from Northfield, has been hired as the
Assistant Director of Public Affairs at Norwich University. Albury has
10 years of writing and media experience.
After graduating from Gettysburg College in 1982 with a BA in English
Literature, Albury worked as a bank manager for 10 years before embarking
on a career as a freelance writer. He served as the primary reporter for
the Northfield News from 1993 to 2001 prior to working for the
Times Argus
of Barre for the last three years.
While covering the Central Vermont area, Albury wrote numerous stories
relating to events at Norwich, and undertook various writing projects
for the University. In addition to reporting, Albury pens a humor column
titled "Off the Mark," that has run in several different newspapers
since 1994. "Off The Mark" currently appears in the Times
Argus on a bi-weekly basis.
As Assistant Director of Public Affairs, Albury will assist Public Affairs
Director Anthony Venti with Norwich media relations and also play a role
in the University's national branding campaign.
