Vermont Quilt Festival at Norwich University
This
past weekend, Norwich University once again hosted the ever-popular Vermont
Quilt Festival. The three-day event, which attracts thousands of visitors
from across the United States and abroad, is a showcase of quilting in
New England, with over 400 quilts on display. In addition, the Vermont
Quilt Festival offers courses
on quilting, special exhibits and guided tours.
"The quilts this year are so gorgeous," said Marjorie Butler,
who was taking time out Saturday afternoon to enjoy the sunshine and breeze
outside Plumley Armory. Mrs. Butler has come for the last five years from
her home in Littleton, NH. "The range of artistry is amazing. Some
are very traditional, while others are like nothing I've seen before.
It's a great time."
