Norwich alumnus dies in line of duty

Vermont State Police Sergeant Michael Johnson, who attended Norwich University with the class of 1986, died in the line of duty on June 15, 2003. His obituary was posted in The Times Argus.

Details about the events leading to Sergeant Johnson's death may be found in the press releases of June 16 and June 17, from Colonel Thomas Powlovich, director of the Vermont State Police.

According to The Times Argus, memorial contributions may be made to the Johnson Family Fund, in care of Patti Clark, Wells River Savings Bank, P.O. Box 637, Bradford, VT 05033.

A Sergeant Michael Johnson Memorial Fund has also been established, by the Vermont Troopers' Foundation, Inc.
