Rook Recognition 2003

On the night of November 10, 2003, the Rook Class of 2007 was officially recognized as members of the Norwich University Corps of Cadets. In an evening they will not soon forget, 388 recruits received their regimental epaulets and congratulations from their cadet leaders on the floor of Plumley Armory.

The official announcement, made shortly after midnight by Cadet Colonel Wilbur Oles, the NUCC Regimental Commander, was met with a deafening roar, drowning out even the discharge of cannons from in front of Roberts Hall. The upperclassmen, watching from the elevated track, banged their rings in approval on the metal railing.

"You now join 185 years of proud Norwich tradition," said Oles. "Norwich Forever!"
