Crawford Renovation Update

Construction closes in on Crawford Hall

As summer reached its midpoint, the Crawford Hall renovation moved ahead full steam, with work taking place at all levels and on all levels. The building is nearly closed in on all sides now, with the construction crew working hard to meet its August 20 deadline.

As of July 10, workmen on the first floor were laying down flooring tiles, while on the second floor, painting was underway. Meanwhile, on the third floor sheetrock was being hung, and on the newly created fourth floor windows were being installed. Throughout all areas of the building electricians, plumbers and other contracted personnel were busy installing wires, lighting and plumbing fixtures.

The housing portion of the renovation is scheduled to be ready for the students' arrival in mid-August. The building, built in 1988, serves as a residence hall for a large portion of the university's civilian students and also houses the Milano Ballroom, a popular venue for university events and private parties.
