Dear Editor: Letters from the NU Community

Dear Editor:

This University seems to have a problem with housing. I am not quite sure what possessed the administration to accept so many students knowing that we do not have proper housing for everyone. As it is, there are still civilian students living at VC and in Hawkins hall. How can the University expect to get away with putting students in this type of situation?

I am a sophomore civilian student, and I want to change rooms. However, in the present situation I am not at liberty to do so. There is nowhere to go. We are not paying $22,000 a year so that we can be stuck in a poor roommate situation. Sometimes, living habits clash unexpectedly, or people change, we should not be forced to live in an uncomfortable situation because the University messed up. And yes, they did mess up.

In the future I think it would be greatly appreciated if the administration of this University would take into account how many beds they have available before they accept students in abundance. It would be the only logical thing to do, don't you think?

Sincerely,
Laura Wolpert
