Members of the Student Leadership Committee presented President
Schneider with a Norwich Leader Development Program (LDP) T-shirt
March 13 in recognition of President Schneider's strong support
of LDP and its mission to provide all Norwich students with the
leadership skills they need after graduation.
The Student Leadership Committee was formed in November 2000 to
assist in the development and implementation of the LDP.
Norwich students who signed up for the Leader Development Program
receive a portfolio of all the leadership activities in which they
participated as well as a Certificate of Leadership when they graduate.

Norwich President Richard Schneider, surrounded by members of his
family, shows the award he received Mar. 14 from the Green Mountain
Council of the Boy Scouts of America during a ceremony held at the
Sheraton Hotel and Conference Center in Burlington, Vt. honoring
him as the distinguished citizen for 2001. Schneider is the 23rd
recipient of the award.
The annual award is presented by the council to individuals whose
lives and vocations impact youth of Vermont. Last year's recipient
was Vermont Gov. Howard Dean. The honoree is selected by a committee
