The dance floor was full in Plumley Armory Saturday, Oct. 11, for the annual Regimental Ball.

Regimental Ball 2003

The Regimental Ball was filled with fun, food, alcohol, and excitement for the 940 students and guests in attendance.

Col. Michael Anderson USMC
Col. Michael C. Anderson USMC was the featured speaker.

Where else could one find hundreds of students dressed to impress; eight Mountain Cold Weather (MCW) cadets rappelling head-first; six drill team members spinning weapons; -- and two marriage proposals in one night?

The festivities kicked off at 6:45 p.m. with the announcement of seniors and their dates, followed by toasts, dinner, and an address by Col. Michael C. Anderson, USMC.

Josh Escada took the opportunity to propose to Cathrine Venet.

After Anderson's remarks, the regimental drill team performed and surrounded a couple. The members of the Mountain Cold Weather Company (MCW) then propelled inverted from above the parachute-domed ceiling. MCW marched forward to the couple and delivered a small box to Cadet Josh Escude, who then proposed to his girlfriend of a year and a half, Cathrine Venet.

The dance floor was opened with music from DJ Super Sounds.

In the course of the night, the music was stopped for a second marriage proposal, and a recruit doing a dance routine to Men in Black.
