The Norwich Guidon

The Norwich Guidon, student newspaper of Norwich University, is published twice monthly and has won numerous awards for excellence in its class. Reporters, editors, and managers for The Norwich Guidon are students at the university who work under the guidance of a Communications faculty advisor. Student editors learn electronic pagination using state of the art computer equipment.

Investigation into policy violations concludes: NU expels 3 cadets for regulations violations; 14 others face sanctions

According to a university press release, the investigation started when campus officials found stolen property in a student room during routine dormitory inspections at the beginning of the holiday break last December. Mike McKean, Commandant of Cadets and Vice President of Student Affairs, said that the stolen items led to closer scrutiny of the room.

NU administration questioned about legality of student room searches

On January 15, 2002 Commandant of Cadets and Vice President for Student Affairs Col. Mike McKean held a meeting with all the juniors and seniors of the corps. In this meeting, McKean was asked about the legality of the school having the right to search the student's rooms and private property.
