Just before you went on Thanksgiving break I wrote a column talking
about promises Norwich had made to you as students. Some of you
wrote to me even before you left on break, and I thank you for that.
However, I really want to hear from many more of our student body
on this issue. I particularly want to know what promises you think
Norwich has kept to you as a student and which ones we need to work
on. Please e-mail me at Promise@norwich.edu.
I am also asking for some other input. As you all know, we have
just concluded a wonderful Leadership Capital Campaign, where we
raised over $28.5M. It was a five-year campaign that brought us
the new Engineering/Math/Science Complex, the new Kreitzberg Arena,
wired all of our dormitory space, provided $1M in faculty development
funds, and over $7M in scholarship funds. I am now in the stages
of planning the next major capital campaign. Over the past several
months I have visited all the academic divisions and talked with
them about what resources the faculty think are needed. Over the
next several weeks, I will also meet on this subject with all the
staff.
I want to hear from the students on what you would like to see
in the next capital campaign. I want to make sure that we are raising
the money that people feel provide the most benefit to our University
and to you as students. Please contact me at Promise@norwich.edu.
Thank you for your input; it means a lot to me and to Norwich.
