Norwich University

Why Come to Norwich?

Many students want to live in an environment where people respect each other, make healthy lifestyle choices, participate in the world around them and believe in something bigger than themselves. Norwich University offers all of this and more.

A proud tradition

Experience one of the most unique collegiate environments in the country. Our founder, Captain Alden Partridge, understood that rigorous academics combined with a structured learning environment was essential to developing strong and determined leaders. With 29 majors across six academic divisions, our students graduate with the skills to satisfy an unlimited amount of ambition. Those seeking a professional degree track can take advantage of our five-year Master’s of Architecture program, our Emmy award-winning communications department or our distinguished David Crawford School of Engineering. Students interested in pursuing a more liberal arts oriented degree can pursue a number of different majors within our Social Science and Humanities departments.

Opportunities abound

Our students are “participators.” More than 90 percent are involved in activities outside the classroom. Norwich offers 18 varsity sports, 3 club sports and an endless amount of intramurals. Off the playing field, there are more than 80 clubs to choose from. From academic organizations and honor societies to leisure activities, there is truly something for everyone. Volunteering is a way of life for our students, the majority of whom donate their time on a regular basis.

It’s all about location

Norwich University is located in Northfield, Vermont and has been rated as one of the safest learning environments in the country. An outdoor enthusiast’s dream, Vermont offers hiking, rock climbing, camping and (of course!) skiing and snowboarding. Campus is a short drive from ski resorts such as Stowe, Sugarbush, Mad River Glen, Smuggler’s Notch, Killington, Okemo and Bolton Valley.

See for yourself

There are any number of reasons why a traditional student would choose Norwich. The best way to find out if it’s the right place for you is to visit our campus. After spending time on campus and experiencing the unique environment it affords its students, you will be equipped to decide if Norwich is the best place for you to spend your college career.
