Housing and Transportation for Holidays & Breaks

The university does not provide transportation or housing for Thanksgiving, Christmas and Spring Break. All students are expected to vacate the residence halls prior to the announced closure time, when the residence halls are closed and secured. Transportation to the airport, bus or train station may be arranged with the assistance of the Residence Life Office.

Phone Privileges

Phone lines are installed in each residence hall room. Each student is issued a phone code to be used solely by them to make long-distance calls. Other telecommunication services are available through the help desk at 802.485.2456.

Emergency Contact

In the unlikely event of an emergency, call the Residence Life Office at 485.2643. During the evening and on weekends, you may call Campus Security at 485.2525 or the Guard Room at 485.2589.

The University Post Office

Norwich has a full-service post office on campus, which, in addition to regular U.S. mail, offers various services such as UPS, a fax machine, etc. Mail is a great morale booster for the entire family! Relatives and friends are encouraged to send letters and care packages throughout the year. Students will be assigned a private Norwich University mailbox upon arrival. Mail sent to students prior to registration should be addressed to:

NORWICH UNIVERSITY

Electronic Mail

At the start of the school year, Computer Services will issue students with accounts, providing a university email address and Internet access. Students will receive a briefing about university email during the first few weeks of school.

Vehicle Policy

First- and second-year students at Norwich University are not authorized to have a vehicle on campus. Students who have a commitment to drill with a National Guard or Reserve unit may be granted an exception to the policy and should contact the Dean of Students at 802.485.2640 for information on obtaining permission.
