Housing & Dining

Housing

At Norwich we have two residential housing areas. One area is called the Upper Parade, which has eight residence halls and cadet barracks built around our parade ground — the place where we do our fall and spring outdoor parades and ceremonies. Currently six of these halls are barracks for the Corps of Cadets, one hall is utilized by both populations and one is dedicated to our residential civilian students. Crawford Hall, a short walk from the upper parade and our newest residence hall, houses residential civilian students as well. We currently have about 1600 residential beds on campus. Virtually all of our Corps of Cadets and our freshman and sophomore civilian students reside on campus as well as some of our upper-class civilian students.

more about the Wise Campus Center

Some of our students call the place we eat a dining hall, some a mess hall. Either way, Wise Campus Center (WCC) — which contains our dining facilities — is our social hub. Our All-Inclusive Meal Plan includes continuous dining on weekdays between the hours of 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. There is no limit to the number of times a participant may eat in the dining hall during these hours. On weekends, the All-Inclusive Meal Plan includes a complete brunch and dinner service. Two guest meals per semester are also included.

Our Rooks and some of their leaders eat in the WCC second-floor Rook dining hall. All other students — upper-class Corps, traditional, and commuters — as well as visitors can choose from the WCC first-floor dining hall or the Mill snack bar. The Mill operates with extended hours, and is open until midnight. Students of legal drinking age will find a variety of Vermont micro brews, wines and pub grub at the new Partridge’s Pub.
