Transfer Students
Guidelines & Requirements
An applicant is considered a transfer student when they have taken college level work after having completed their high school education. We admit transfer students on the basis of their success at other institutions and who have met all academic entrance requirements either in high school, college or a combination.
How to Apply
- Complete the online application.
- Contact the admissions office and request a paper application be mailed to you.
Application Checklist
- Completed application.
- $35 application fee.
- Official high school transcript, showing date of graduation.
- Official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions.
- Course descriptions of all college classes.
- Listing of all coursework in progress. If this is your first semester in college, please arrange for an official transcript to be sent at the end of the semester.
- Personal Essay: Tell us something about yourself that isn't apparent from your academic record.
Deadlines
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, meaning that when we have received all of the information required to complete your file, we will begin to review your application for admission. However, students should plan to apply before our priority deadlines. Applications received after the deadlines will be reviewed on a space available basis.
- Fall Enrollment: February 1
- Spring Enrollment: November 15
Application Review Guidelines
In reviewing transfer applicants, we consider your overall academic record. If you have completed over 15 credits of college coursework, your college transcripts and GPA will play the biggest factor in our decision. However, if you have taken less than 15 credits at the college level, your high school performance will be the primary source in the review process. Students should refer to the new student guidelines and requirements for additional information on high school coursework requirements.
If you have taken at least 15 credit hours of college level work, the SAT I or ACTs are not required. Although Norwich does not have a GPA cutoff, transfer applicants should maintain at least a 2.5 GPA on the college level.
