New undergraduate student registration directions

Once you have completed all admissions requirements you MUST take the Math Placement Exam. This is required of all new students prior to registering for courses. For detailed help, please refer to the information sent to you by the Admissions Office. Your registration, which reserves a place for you in each course, will not be entered into the computer system until you complete the Math Placement Exam. Seats in courses fill up on a first-return-of-form basis.

For additional information, visit the Registration page.

After you register for your fall class schedule, adjustments will be made to reflect completion of college-level courses you’re currently taking and your college-level exams (CLEP). Once those adjustments have been made, send official academic transcripts directly to the Registrar’s Office. Please include AP course test result transcripts in the mailing. The mailing address is below.

When you arrive on campus for freshman orientation and meet with your academic advisor you may choose to make other adjustments to your course schedule prior to the start of your first semester.

Use the academic programs and courses links in the freshman resources section for degree requirement information and course descriptions. Course information (titles, dates, and times) can be found in the Spring 2008 course schedule.

Registration for incoming freshman students begins after the third week in April. You must complete the following.

  1. Print the New Student Questionnaire in the freshman resources section and complete all areas on the form.
  2. Select the major you’ve been accepted into from the Course Selection Sheets section. Follow the instructions on the form and complete it.
  3. Remember to sign and date both the questionnaire and registration forms. Then mail or fax both completed forms to:

Transferring undergraduates

If you are transferring from another college, you will need to take into consideration the transfer credit that Norwich has accepted. If you have transfer credit questions, email Stephanie Doherty, sdoherty@norwich.edu. You may want to work with your assigned advisor or an academic department chair to develop a schedule of courses for your fall enrollment, since approved transfer credit may leave you out of sync with you major’s curriculum chart as it appears on the university catalog. Questions having to do with your major are best answered by you major’s department chair.
