About Instant Messaging

The Kreitzberg Library is offering reference assistance through instant messaging.

You can chat with us through the chat interface on the left side of this page (you do not need an IM account to use this) or using the following screen names.

Hours of availability (when classes are in session):

• Mondays - Thursday: 9 a.m. to noon, 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Eastern Time
• Fridays: 8 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Eastern Time
• Sundays: 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. Eastern Time (Chat and Email Reference)
• And by prior request (email the Reference Desk to request an appointment).

When Norwich is open and classes are not in session, the librarians will be available via IM during the afternoon hours.

Email is checked seven days a week and is often the best way to contact us on weekends.

About in Person Reference

The Reference Desk is located near the center of the main floor of the Kreitzberg Library. Reference Librarians at the Reference Desk provide guidance and instruction in the use of the Library and its resources. Please don’t hesitate to consult a librarian for any library or information related question.

If a Reference Librarian is not available at the Reference Desk ask for assistance at the Circulation Desk.

Subject Librarian

Each school has a library liaison who serves as the principal contact for students and faculty in that area.

Faculty may want to contact a liaison in their area for any of the following reasons:

• Specialized research assistance in your subject area
• Journal purchase requests
• School purchasing to meet the needs of the curriculum
• Research instruction for your students
