The greatest challenge at Norwich is learning the discipline to get things done. As an engineering student, I always had at least five classes that all demanded a great deal of work. Becoming disciplined in getting your work done on time not only helps you do well in college but also benefits you throughout your life.
Although I was not a member of the Corps of Cadets, I developed good leadership skills. Norwich provided great mentors, including my professors, staff members, and even my peers. My professors kept their doors open, and they were willing to help when needed. Whether it was a homework problem or a personal issue, they offered their advice. At Norwich, it’s not unusual to get help from your professors after hours or even on weekends.
My electrical engineering classmates became like siblings to me. We looked after each other then, and we still do. We’re constantly in communication with each other. Whenever somebody needs anything, they can always ask for help.
