The Forgotten Hero of Gettysburg

Military history aficionado LTC John Greene, USAR, (Ret.), presents
Kreitzberg Library Director Ellen Hall a copy of "The Forgotten Hero of
Gettysburg," the first published biography of Greene's great-great
grandfather, Brigadier General George Sears Greene (Brown University
1819, West Point 1823), who was the commander of the 60th New York volunteer
regiment during the Civil War. Written by David W. Palmer, the book
documents "Old Man Greene's" civil engineering genius during the war's
most pivotal battles. At right is the donor's son, LTC Ian Greene, USA
'88, currently stationed at Fort Shafter, Hawaii.
