Cadets following in their fathers' footsteps On April 6th, Norwich University promoted Zachary Knoebel ('05) to the rank of Regimental Commander. In this capacity Knoebel, along with a staff of senior students, will be charged with governing the school's approximately 1,100 member Corps of Cadets during the 2004-2005 academic year. Knoebel is a Business Management and Computer Information Systems major, a member of Army ROTC, and the son of Colonel W. Scott and Wendy Knoebel of Northfield. Colonel Scott Knoebel, a Professor of Military Science for the Army ROTC department at Norwich, is a 1976 graduate of the University and a former NUCC Regimental Commander. "To the best of my knowledge, this is the first time in the history
of Norwich University that two sons of former Regimental and Deputy Regimental
Commanders have served in the same positions at the same time," said
Vice President of Student Affairs and Commandant of Cadets Michael Kelley.
"It is especially significant in a school so steeped in tradition.
I'm sure that Zachery Knoebel and Brent White will do a fine job and make
their parents proud." by Mark Albury |
